It sounds like you need to set your APN to your carriers settings. Without having your carrier listed I cannot help you any further.
I invite you to join Android Forums. We have many sections for specific devices which contain a wealth of information. You should be able to find your carriers APN there and how to change it.
You may also be able to contact you service provider and get the information from them. They may very well be able to walk you through the APN set up.
