My zte Majesty is about a year old and my screen went white and the black and wont turn on. When the phone is pluged in my screen heats up a lot. PLZ HELP!

That's not much to go on. Did anything happen before this started (software update, dropped, has it ever got wet)? And when you say both "white and black" and "won't turn on", do you mean that it temporarily went black and white and now won't turn on at all, or that it still lights up in black and white but the phone won't boot properly any more? And if you shut it down (pull out the battery for a couple of minutes if it is removable) and try to restart it, does the screen remain completely black, or do you e.g. get the splash screen image and then it goes black when it tries to load the OS? Information like this would help pin down the problem.

Basically though, if the splash screen lights up, or if you get a normal display when entering the bootloader, but it goes black if you try to boot normally, then that would suggest a software problem of some sort (because the screen would be working when you weren't running Android but going black when you were, which would mean the hardware was OK and the problem was in the OS somewhere). If it won't light up at all under any circumstances, it's most likely hardware.

The screen heating sounds like hardware to me, but I'd like to be sure. If it's a software problem you might be able to fix it with a factory reset (if user software or settings) or reflashing the phone (if system software - less likely). If it's hardware there is nothing you can do except get it repaired or replaced.

No the phone screen went white the shut off "went black". no the phone has never gotten wet dropped one when i first got it but worked fine. set brother used it then when i got it back it was acting up then just stopped working.

The phone was running its highest update it could take. I asked him what he did and he said he texted from it called and when on facebook not else. Do I need to replace it??

I'm going to go out on a limb here and take a wild guess that something happened to the phone while your brother had it that he isn't telling you about. Although random hardware failures do happen they are fairly rare and in most cases there is a precipitating event like a drop or dunking (hence Hadron's inquiry). So part of the troubleshooting process may be to squeeze your bro for more info and perhaps a confession. Do you have a room in your house with no windows, a single chair and one dim light bulb? ;)
If the battery is removable in that phone I'd pull it for a few minutes then put it back and see if the phone then starts normally, sometimes this helps.

Hmm, it might have suffered a spontaneous failure while in his possession, but it wouldn't be the first time that someone's not been brave enough to admit to an accident (I think this is the most extreme case I've come across :)).

Regardless of the cause, if you can't make the screen show any activity, even after a couple of minutes without the battery, and not even when you first turn it on or when trying to enter the bootloader (which will require booting while pressing some combination of keys - not sure what that is with a ZTE, but usually involves one or both volume keys), then I'm pretty sure it's hardware. Knowing whether there had been an event which might have caused it would really just be confirmation.

I talked to my brother he said when the phone stop working the screen started snowing like a TV with no cable connection.

just to be sure pull battery and wait for a few minutes and try. If still no screen then the phone or lcd is dead

Does a battery pull help? And can you get any response from the screen at any point? The sequence of symptoms described really doesn't sound like software to me I'm afraid, so I expect the answer is no to both.

I let the battery out of about an hour and the pluged the phone back in. The screen just became hot again. Thanks for the advice.
