Help HELPP! Text message STUCK IN LIMBO!!

So...i have a droid incredible.

Few days ago I got a text from a friend...and I think i was doing, like 3 things at once when i got the text, and something GLITCHED REALLY HARD, and now this text message is stuck in a "limbo" or loop type situation...let me explain...

Every now and then, I'll get a notification in the top bar that I received this text (and I can read the text in the notifications pull down menu). When I pull the bar down, and click on the text notification, it brings me to a white screen and says "Loading" forever (I've waited like 10 hours).

So somehow, the messaging app thinks that this text is still "unread", but somehow, can't load it into an actual message conversation (just displays the text in notifications).

Also, if I only have 1 unread text (a real text), the notification bar says "2 unread messages", and when I click that, it takes me to the messages app, where it will only show that 1 real unread text.


I HAVE TRIED:

-force stopping, closing, clearing data etc, of the messaging app
-restarting the phone
-deleting all my messages

HELP!
 
I developed this problem as well. I believe it occurred because I was deleting a thread when the now looping text was coming in and for the past three days my phone has been doing this.

Did SMS cleaner work?

sms cleaner will work, just remember to have it delete unread messages.
 
Just gave it a shot and deleted by contact, unchecked keep unread messages and voila! Worked like a charm. Thank you!!!
