Help with here maps.
I have installed here maps and need to use it offline in norway and arctic circle, problem is i need the ocean and seas around Iceland and norway, i have downloaded norway, uk and Iceland but i am still missing large amounts of ocean and seas are blocked out in white when you zoom in a little in offline mode. How can i correct this?

Here Maps was primarily intended for driving directions, i.e. driving a vehicle on land, like most of them. Want detailed maps of the sea, think you'll have to look for something that has nautical charts, as used by boats and ships.

Thanks for the reply, not looking for detailed maps , just trying to find out why big areas are missing , all i have is white odd shaped white patches blocking see and land,

Try the MapFactor Navigator free offline GPS navigator...

give CoPilot a looksee, it downloads the regional map info to the extSDcard and does not use DATA once that is done.

as you will NOT be using Audible Drive instructions, the app is free.

make triple darn sure that you go to Settings 1st, before you download anything....

if you don't, the maps will download to the phone's internal memory.

Hi, as @mikedt said, as with most navigation apps, Here Maps is primarily intended for navigation on land and you may find you are unable to 'correct' it.

The only app that I know of that actually refers to a nautical function is OsmAnd :- http://osmand.net/blog?id=nautical-charts.

The current version on Playstore is 2.2.4 and certainly does have the Nautical plugin although I haven't enabled it myself. It may be worth checking out.

I will have a look at the other navigation prog. I just want to see where we are using gps, not looking to navigate , just a dot on the map to say we are here.
