Hi new here and I have a Samsung S2 4G for VM. I paid too much for it, since there is very little if any 4G here in Tallahassee, but when I go to another city, it will be nice indeed. I dont know much about android and...well...what a learning curve! Not a big fan so far, but I assume all things will get easier the more I use it. I updated it to JB 4.1 which was a near emergency (thank you faulty USB cable that came with the phone). Now I have Moble ID on my phone and I hate it. Ive been slowly trying to put everything back the way it was.

The one thing that REALLY gets me is the near EIGHTY apps on my phone, maybe NINETY with Moble ID now, that I simply will NEVER use. I want to get rid of all that crap but I dont want to root my phone and void the warranty. So now you all know where I am with this phone. Nice to be here though. Im sure I will get a lot of help.

Sorry you're having such issues! Here's the forum you want to spend some time in:

There other S2 4G users can help you master your phone and hopefully get some of that bloatware off. As far as rooting goes: don't fear it so much. If the phone doesn't physically go bad in a reasonable period of time, it probably won't. Root away, knowing you can always UN-root if you have to. And lose the apps you don't want!

The S2 4G forum can answer any questions you may have, though.

I didnt know I could un-root. Well, maybe I will then! There's only a hand full of apps that I'll be using and they're not part of the bloat. lol. thanks!
