Help Hheeeeeeeeeeelpppp!!!!

I am a new Samsung Galaxy S user and am really enjoying it. HOWEVER! Today, my battery was nearly out and my 3yr old daughter was playing with an app. Then, it ran out of battery and weirdly started up again. But this time it had gone back to the default factory settings and had lost all of my phone memory things lik/gifContent-Length: 1194Last, and schedules EEEK! Is there anyway to restore the settings that I had before. I want my old settings back! PLEASE HELP! I've also lost all my own downloaded apps!

Its strange to happen. I guess there was some other issue instead of battery. I have drained my phone 1-2 times to 0 battery so that it automatically switches off but that doesnt delete anything. So there must be some other cause.
