Hi and help!?

Hi all, just got my first Android phone and am trying to find my way around. Set up Samsung Kies on myt PC buit it only "finds" my phone when it is set for Mass Storage and then says it can't work with it in that setting. As soon as I set it up for Kies it can't see it. Weird. Any ideas?
