Hi Everyone

My name is Jim Reid and I joined this forum because I just purchase a Samsung Galaxy S9+. My last phone was a very old one. There are so many options with this phone I needed somewhere/one to talk to about some of them. I don't know how to use 1/2 of the features on the phone. I will be looking for all kinds of help as I go through the phone and see new features. I find it amazing that the manufacturer doesn't give a manual out with the phone that at least explains the imbedded software and how to use it.

I also though about rooting the phone but it appears there are more problems with rooting and that you loose too much by rooting the phone that I have got over that idea. Now I'm trying to set it up so that I don't get so many messages/notifications, etc. It takes awhile.

Finally I would like to find out what bloatware is on the phone and how to eliminate it.

So it should be a fun ride, thanks to all the contributors.....

Welcome Jim, enjoy the site and your new phone

Welcome to the Android Forums JimReid!

You have to root to get rid of bloatware. This no longer voids your warranty on the US but these phones aren't made there.

I'd go with a microSD card. You could get a few hundred albums and thousands of pictures on a 64GB card.

I wouldn't worry about the bloat-ware.

I actually have 256GB SD card so I shouldn't have a problem.
