An Android newbie. In the past have been an early adopter of various technologies, but have been kept off by the cost of the phones and the cell plans. I finally got an LG Optimus with MetroPCS (I know, I know, the service and coverage doesn't compare to the big ones) and have been pleasantly surprised. I really didn't want to fall behind tech-wise and read good reviews about the Optimus being a good beginner phone.
I've never owned an iPhone, but own an iPod Touch and while I appreciated the interface and ease of use, I hated the restraints setup by Apple and the iTunes software. IMHO, the Android interface is just one step behind from the iPhone, but more than makes up in flexibility.
I hope to learn a lot from this community, because I believe that Android is the way to go.

Wish I could meet you in person....this means that I would be in a sunny environment....it is raining here and no summer at all !!!! this site was very helpful to me...modded my LG to the latest cyanogenmod gingerbread 2.3.4 and works perfectly. I so love doing that. Learned everything here, so...maybe you can too
