The short answer is to use the apps you want to use. It's hard enough to recommend apps when you have some clue as to what the user wants to do with their device, but we can only shoot blindly in the dark with no information at all. If you want to let us know what you are looking for from your phone that would help us narrow it down.
If there are any technological limitations as to what apps will and won't run on your phone, you should ask other users in Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 - Android Forums.
