Hello, oldbies. I just got an Acer A500, and I love it. But, I think there may be something wring with my USB 2.0 port. I bought a Sandisk fit micro flash drive especially for it, and yesterday, I could have sworn that I inserted it and all was well. Today, I was going to mount it, but it seems like it won't go all the way in. It is that way for a bunch of others I tried with it. They are not being recognized by the device. Does anybody know what I might be able to do?

First thing would be to take a look at whether there are any foreign objects in the port or if the pins look damaged

Yes, there was a physical problem, so I opted for a physical solution, and I marched over and got a new one. I love, love, love the way I was able to log on, and everything stored in my google account just automatically transferred to the new device. I love this tablet.

Make sure you dop the updates to 3.2 and hold there till they get the bugs worked out on the ICS update. #.2 will give you better support for reading external drives and makes all your files and folders readable with your PC. Easier to switch files and such. Get a good file manager, I use ES, it's free anmd works real good. Go through the different subjects here in the forum and learn as much as you can. It will help you emensly to know if someone else has had thwe same problem you might be having and if there's a solution it's here. Don't be afraid to ask questions, we're all here for the same reason... We love our tablets and we want to help the newbies get a good experience.

Well, I have the ICS upgrade, and it works perfectly!
It adds so many good functions that skipping it is almost heretical! :-)
