Hi there, new Android user here!

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would say Hi as my Hero (T-Mobile G2) is winging its way to me as I type, should be here tomorrow morning, Will look forward to playing around with my HTC Hero all day tomorrow, probably wont get any work done mind you!

Will hopefully be a very active member on here bugging you all for answers!

Thanks

Andrew

Who needs work? Work is overrated. The Hero/G2 Touch is not ;)

Welcome to the forum!

Well, was expecting to be loving it up with my G2 today, however as T-Mobile decided it was a wise idea to send the unit by Royal Mail (Cause that was a genius idea!) I will now be getting the unit tomorrow due to strikes etc.....

Oh well, the wait will make the delivery that much more sweeter.

Welcome to the AF forums and enjoy your visits !!

Well, phone has finally turned up, impressed so far, just getting to grips with it, totally different from my old N95!

Still unsure how to view all of my Googlemail emails!

Setup the account during the initial setup, when I get new emails I see the notification and can read the email, however, when I click on the mail app, it asks me to set one up? Shouldn't it just take me straight to my inbox?

Andy

There are 2 mail apps in Android. One is labeled Email and the other is labeled GMail. Perhaps you are clicking the wrong app?

That would explain everything! Thats what you get for trying to figure out a new phone whilst serving customers at work!!!!!!

Thanks

Andy

Yep, if gmail is your thing, then get rid of the mail app from the homescreen, and add the gmail app instead (longpress on the homesceen where you want the gmail icon, then shortcut/program/gmail)

Never understood why Hero has mail app on homescreen from stock, but not gmail..........
