Hi all I joined the forum because I just got an android phone I would like to contribute when I can and also gain some valuable advice.

At the moment I have not done a lot of searching through the forum but since I am here I would like to ask a question.

I have set my phone to sync with google calender and contacts. All works well however I have do not seem to be able to get new calender events to show up on the pc.

Pc has firefox and Ubuntu 10.04.

Anyway thanks in advance I will contribute where I can.:)

First thanks for the quick reply.

This may be a silly question but I can not find the check box to sync calender. I have sync checked on the phone and it works cause if I edit the calender on laptop it automatically sync to phone.

Still I can not find such a check box in google account settings on the lap top. have searched everywhere.

The check box is on the Gmail account settings on the phone.

Based on what you describe it sounds like the issue would be on the phone and not on Gmail's servers. It might be prudent to try deleting the Gmail configuration from the phone, rebooting, and then re-adding it. If changes are replicated from Gmail to the phone but not from the phone to Gmail, it sounds to me like there may be an issue on the phone.

Well I worked it out.:D

The solution was quite simple really. I noticed that the new entry was on the phone calender. I made the phone calender invisable and wrote the event again, this time is was on my google calender.

Synced perfectly.

Cool! I find it interesting that your phone has a local calendar. I knew that Android supported a local contact list but this is the first I've heard of a local calendar. Learn something new every day...
