Hi! I'm Dan Harkavy, a teacher from New York City.

Just got my first Android, an Optimus T.

Am considering rooting it, so that I can set a proxy for work. Are there any disadvantages to doing so (other than the possibility of bricking the phone?)

I run a Ubuntu system, and I have ADB recognizing the phone so I can access it to root.
