Welcome to Android Forums, Titans.

There are several things you will have to find out before you can determine if the phone will work. First, what kind of network does your carrier use? Most of the world uses GSM, but in the U.S. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA. If your carrier's network is compatible, then you must find out the band frequencies for it's services. Chances are that voice and text/mms services will work as most phones support all the common frequencies. Data, on the other hand, can me a nuisance. For example in the U.S. AT&T uses the 1900 MHz band for 3G data while the other major GSM carrier, T-Mobile uses 1700 MHz. Because of this a phone sold for T-Mobile can work on the AT&T network but at only 2G data speeds.

Perhaps if you told us the exact model phone you are looking at and the carrier you intend to use it with, we can let you know if it will work. Or, you could call the carrier and ask them. Most carriers aren't to fussy about the phone you use because they make their money selling you the service.
