I'm isis1980. I'm new to the forum and android phones. I had a blackberry for the longest so I decided to give droids a try. I have the mytouch 4g. Its a pretty cool phone. The only thing I hate is all you have to go through to take a screenshot I have a few questions lol Why do I need a SD card? If I don't have one, what can't I do on my phone? Also, rooting my phone? Is that similar to when iphone users jailbreak their phones??? I'm so lost

Sorry for all the questions. Everyone I know has a bb or iphone lol

The SD card allows you to store more on your phone... music, photos, apps, etc. You should be able to use your phone without an SD card, but they are relatively cheap, so worth investing in - just be careful where you get one... there are fakes that float around on ebay!

Rooting is the Android version of jailbreaking - more info can be found in the "all things root" section of the device sub-forum (T-Mobile MyTouch 4G - Android Forums) - each device is slightly different, so has different methods, etc.
