how can i unlock a Galaxy Apollo iv'e tried the Hold volume UP and down and menu(central button) while turning on the phone. but it doesn't work

When you say "unlock" I am going to assume you mean reset, since unlocking can't be done with button combinations.
If the phone is locked as in a screen lock that you don't remember or have entered too many times incorrectly, then you want to reset. This will wipe all user data, but you'll get your phone back.
You do have to press and hold the vol. up, don, home and power buttons at the same time, but you must hold them until the screen flashes (I think at least three times, but it might be less) and then release to boot into recovery mode. From there you need to wipe data to reset the phone.
