Hi

When I switch on my tablet and Broadband router I cannot get an internet connection through WiFi , just get a message saying there is a authentication problem. However, if I go into the tablet's WiFi menu, select WPS PUSH BUTON and press the WPS BUTTON on the router at the same time, until it flashes on and off, then I get instant connection. I'm curious rather than concerned but if anyone can throw some light on why its happening I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

Sorry to say but any WiFi issues such as bugs of any type will require you to perform a factory data reset to the tablet . there is no fixes for WiFi on any android but a factory reset.

i have same problem when connecting wifi to my xperia c. there's 2 thing..1:authentication problem. 2:wifi connected but cannot browse the internet.
solution to no 1: press and hold the wifi name in the wifi setting, and modify the network. i dont know how other phone works, but try to modify it.
2: clear all the cache files, and some apps data that u can retrieve back such as facebook (takes a lot of ur memory spaces) messanger, and browser like chrome and others.
my wifi problem fixed when i do this. try it out. hope it'll help.

Have you tried to "forget network" then re enter your Wi-Fi password again? Sometimes resetting the router can resolve these issues too.

Hi Madbat.

I did a factory data reset, as suggested by Asyar, which enabled me to get back the the 5g speed on my Virgin router. However the 2g option still showed the authentication fault but after a rare lightbulb moment I tried what you are now suggesting and it worked!☺ I just wish I'd thought to do "forget network" before the reset which would have saved a lot work. Still, good to have everything back to normal. My thanks to you and Asyar for your help.
