Root Hidden Menu error

My nephew who has the same phone recently started getting an error on his phone. Whenever his phone boots up, it'll load fine but then an error box pops up with "unfortunately com.lge.hiddenmenu has stopped." It seems to freeze the phone for a minute or so. After that it goes away and works. I've noticed it also brings up an error about Voicemail being unable to be sent. His phone is not rooted and he is on the latest update. Any ideas on how to fix this?

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize I didnt create this in the normal LG Volt section.

If the phone isn't rooted, you can boot into recovery (hold vol down + power) and clear the cache and dalvik cache. If that doesn't work, factory reset.

He already factory reset the phone and it gave him the freezing issue and the same error. I tried going in to recovery and clearing the cache but all it did was remove the error message. The phone still freezes on boot up and apparently it happens more frequently now.

You've got 4 options... Take it to a store and see if they can help, send it in for repair, flash it back to original software and let it reupdate, or root it and flash a new ROM.
