Hide Address Bar

Lurker
I'm about ready to pull my hair out, so I'm hoping someone here can help. I was in a store today playing with an ASUS eee Pad. I tapped the Browser icon and it brought up the browser...without the toolbar at the top. No address bar, no tabs, no settings button, nothing. Just the thin line that indicated that the page was loading. The page finally did load, but no amount of tinkering would reveal the address bar.

So I got home and turned to Google for the answer. Unless I'm just completely failing tonight, I couldn't find anything about hiding the address bar in Android. Nearly all of the hits I got were about developers trying to hide the address bar in their applications. Nothing about a user hiding it in the Browser app. Other Android tablets on display, including other ASUS tablets, did not have the address bar hidden, and didn't have any obvious setting (that I noticed) that would accomplish this.

How is this accomplished? And more importantly, how would I get it back?
