Hide Menu Items

unfortunately I don't believe there is. I get around this problem by never accessing the menu at all. Instead I organise my apps into folders on the desktop and just use that instead. Much quicker and easier, for me anyway :P

You can do it wish some custom home environments such as GDE (unfortunately it costs money - but only once). You can make it so your menu pops up with folders for types of programs or setup custom folders instead of having all applications.

PandaHome is free and allows you to hide icons as well as have more home pages. I've found that you don't want to go much above 4 though as it starts to chug along somewhat. I have 5 currently and have some hiccups now and then. If you run it be sure to change all the icons and theme back to stock look and whatever background you want. It defaults to some space theme that most people don't like and give up on right away. Switch the icons to stock look and then set the background to whatever you want. I also get rid of the home page indicator dots as I think they look tacky.
