Hide voicemail pin

My phone was recently updated to ICS and now when I check voicemail and it prompts for my pin the pin is displayed as I type. It never displayed prior fo ICS.

Does anyone know how to prevent this?

The "make passwords visible" is unchecked under security, however it still displays the pin as I type it? Don't understand why ICS would make it display without providing the option to hide it?
