Help Hitting home button taking me to "Google now"

[Android Question]

I know many people have already talked about how they've been having problems with their home button and "Google now" since getting the new update. I've already tried going restoring the Google app back to factory settings and even disabling the Google app all together. It doesn't prompt me anymore but when I hit the home button sometimes nothing happens and it vibrates like it did when it used to prompt me. It's as if the phone is still trying to prompt me but can't since I disabled the app. It's very annoying, please help.

I had the same problem, did a battery pull and it's back working ok now.

Somewhere I remember that if you hit the home button real quick it will go to home screen. If y9ou hit the home button and hold with a slight delay it will take you to the screen you have.
