Hive Contact Manager Questions

Anyone try it out yet?

I has some interesting sync/import/export features. I am curious about it asking for my gmail info.

More info about how this works would be great, as it might work as a great way to populate my contact db which is still suffering.

Way to big to fit on my "crammed" phone ... now 208 installed apps ...

I have a few contact apps -

StarContact 164k
ContacstBlast 765k
Hive 778k

Trying them out.

I can certainly see the disadvantages of the two that are 700+ k.

I only plan on keeping one. Hive might be more of a utility if it helps me import/export my contacts from vcards. I have to find some time to get that done.

Here are the comments so far .... sounds like importing is still very problematic ...

And for people complaining that you have to go through alot to get to one contact, the app is mainly for people who have a large amont of contacts

A for effort. New contact blast lite better. Phonebook is better too. Dont like ui .. Nick ..2009-04-23 21:51:13
This is a great improvement on the native Contacts--the ability to add groups is something the G1 should have native. Needs skins, though…

The layout is too confusing and the UI seems as if its aimed for children.

Neat idea, but very confusing. Seems like you have to go through a lot to find a single contact. ..Amandio ..2009-04-23 16:30:39
Really like the way its organized. But force closes after importing 10 contacts.plz fix! And ui could use some enhancements :)

There are actually two forms of import that I can tell...one is from a google doc spreadsheet and I am looking for the documentation on that.

The other the commenters are referring too is this one time import the app sucks your data from the contact db (not sure how/where). I had no issue with this part of the process it worked.

Good to know .. which is which .... does the app have an export feature ?

In the preferences there is a save, restore and import option. I am not ready to really dig into this, but I plan too. (when is the real question!)
