running stock 2.2 (been ignoring the ota updates)
rooted with unrevoked, s-off (or i was)
i just rooted last week, it's been working fine until today.

i was preparing to do the fix disk space mod today so i attempted to do a nandroid backup. the backup failed due to not enough free space on the sd card. i booted the phone and manually delete a couple of nandroid backups (sdcard\clockworkmod\backups\xxxxx).

so i booted back into hboot to try my backup again and it got farther but failed again due to lack of space. used the clockwork option to reboot the phone... but now it won't boot. i get the htc boot screen, then it goes black and vibrates 5 times, the led blinks but i can't do anything other than a batter pull.

i can boot into hboot - but it now says s-on! i am sure that it's said s-off ever since i rooted last week. how did that happen??? if i select the recovery option i once again get the black screen and 5 vibrates.

any help would be appreciated :)

There is a five vibs of death fix linked in the "root guide" sticky. I'd start there.

yes! worked perfectly! thanks!!!

now - is it safe to delete nandroid backups off the sdcard from a pc? i'm not sure what caused my 5 vibs of death problem today but i would like to not have to repeat it ;)

I've never had a problem deleting nandroids, don't think anyone knows what causes that five vibs thing.

do you delete nandroids from clockwork or just do it on a pc?

am i correct in assuming that clockwork just reads the backup files in the /sdcard/clockworkmod/backups folder and displays a list from that? so if i delete one it won't show up in clockwork anymore? and vice versa if i copy on from my pc to the sdcard it should then show up in clockwork as a restore point?

Correct, that's exactly how it works. I've deleted nandroids both using the phone and from a pc without issue.
