Holla! purchasing a droid help needed from the experts :]

Lurker
hello guys.
well the reason i'm writing is written all over the headline.

i'm not sure about which phone to purchase.
this will be my first smart phone. ever.
the emphasis is on visuals & practical use.

budget :
about 3000hk dollars (about 400 us dollars) MAX - buying from Hong-Kong.

Manufacturer :
HTC (because of its visual attributes and HTC sense.)
Samsung (faster, reliable, more practic than htc on every test i've witnessed)
* open to suggestions though suggestions brought me to this point ;]

Screen : extremely important. 3'7 - 3'5. would rather have Gorilla glass on it.

processor : about 1 GHZ should be fine. wont it?

other than that, important things :
quick, comfortable, decent sound system, good gps and fast web connection.

saw some video clips on youtube. all concurred samsung is better than htc when it comes to overall usage (especially web and GPS)
and htc is better when it comes to UI. - htc sense.
what do you guys say?

some phones considering:
cheap ones:
htc wildfire s
samsung galaxy ace
----------------------
max cash:
htc desire S
htc desire
samsung galaxy s

thank ahead for any help what so ever. looking forwards for any response.

Check Galaxy S Plus. Same body as Galaxy S but with 1.4Ghz processor. The Galaxy W also has a 1.4Ghz processor and a 5mp camera with flash.

For HTC, the check HTC Rhyme

finjan,
Based on your original post it seems like you have your research all done. Have you handled the devices yet? It sounds like that is the last step you need on order to pick the final winner.

thank you guys for your attention.
for the long run, i think desire would be the better choice, after reading reviews about wildfire and samsung ace. i must say that they dont seem to be the right choice in the long run.
leaning back to the ultimate battle:

Desire \ desire S VS Samsung I9000 Galaxy S
