Holy cow!!!!

am i the only one who thinks that's fake? 4GB of ROM? 32GB Flash storage AND a memory card slot? 2GHz processor? Since when did they jump specs by that large of a margin in the smartphone world? Perhaps if they said 1.5GHz, 2GB ROM and 16GB internal storage.... not buying this. There's way too much money to be had by making incremental steps.

Its set to launch some time in 2011. It sounds feasible. Technology is advancing fasting faster then ever.

The ROM does seem rather large, and it's a rather large leap from current flash memory to 32GB. But, if it can be done at the right price, and not drain the battery in 30 seconds, why not make that leap?

I personally think it's sad that it has taken manufacturers this long to make phones that can actually compete against the iPhone. But thankfully, we're there... and it looks like Apple finally has true competition.

Anywhoo.. real or not, looks wicked. :D

I don't care what the stats are. I wouldn't own another samsung phone.

What if it was running stock gingerbread? Or you just dislike their hardware? I'm not a big Samsung fan either, but I have to admit this looks smoking hot. And it will do us all a favor by speeding up development of future smartphones. Its exciting times folks. And I'm glad I'm with sprint because of yearly upgrades. Now lets just cross our fingers that they continue to roll out these high end Android phones.

Imagine the awesome battery life on that phone!

*rolleyes*

Its a super amoled phone. They claim that its 30% more battery effiecient then LCD. So it might be on par with the current EVO. I would assume that it will have atleast a 2000 mah battery. But I hear ya. I wish that battery technology moved at a faster rate.

Its a Samsung. The same company that makes crap quality phones and doesnt update them. I am sure the next Evo will be better by default.

I agree, But Samsung is taking some positive strides in the right direction. Lets see how they do with the Galaxy line. I already wish I had the next EVO, Smartphone Tech is my heroin LOL. :D

My samsung instinct is a lump of crap. Personally I think these stats are strictly some sort of "dream" project. No one has a 2ghz processor for phones yet.

Nah... saying some time in 2011 makes it sound like it's a long way off... They're saying "The communicator should appear in the first quarter of 2011. Approximate price $ 800." Q1? No way.

They would not jump specs this much. Why? Because it's cheaper and more profitable to make smaller changes and continue charging high prices.

FAKE.

Because it is more profitable to sell a phone that slots in between what is currently available and what you can offer. It is cheaper to make, it is still better than everyone else, and it doesn't force you to empty your whole bag of tricks. Car manufacturers have been doing this for a long, long time.

Samsung Foundry designs SoC using 32nm LP HKMG Process technology | Samsung Hub

Operative word in your sentence - yet.

Highest speed mobile tech we're seeing now is claimed to come from 45 nm process technology.

25 nm is coming, and with it, higher speed and lower power consumption.

That said, remembering that we sent an Apollo capsule to the moon with about as much computing horsepower as a 1980s $5 digital watch, I think I'm going to pleased with my Evo until its wheels fall off.

I'll probably hold out for the Evo 7 - it's in my nature.

I am with you on that. I will never own another one also.

Well atleast they make good TV's. You gotta give it to them when it comes to screens. They supply screens for alot of gadgets we use and love. Including our EVO depending what version of course. They innovate, Super Amoled will soon be the status quo when it comes to smartphone screens.

Thats a sign that the Iphone is no longer the standard for smartphones. Now its the Great Civil War. Android V Android.

Well thank god that changed, because it sure was part of the raging debate in another thread this morning and it was making me crazy.

Gosh! Technology sure moves quickly!

Any idea what's going to be obsolete by 3 am?

And that whole Civil War thing - is that a reference to freeing our phones from the oppressive tyranny of Sense and Blur et al?

Does this mean that imperialistic tendencies are in Android's future?

Do you think Android 4.0 will begin to incorporate the three laws?

If Samsung could have met demand, they might well have had an SAMOLED on our Evo. They've already started on a $2.2 billion facility to help meet that demand. In other news -

What I really mean is that as a collective platform Android kills IOS4. Now Android will canabalize it self with in house compition (Droid X Vs EVO) I sure hope Google keeps it open, and HTC and Motorola make their UI's/skins optional as a separate plug in. I just hope that Android does not follow Winmo 7 and IOS4 footsteps as in proprietary OS's. Thats why I love Android and hate Apple. But I'm afraid it wont stay that way. Only time will tell.

Okay, let me restate that. I will never own another samsung cell phone again. lol. They make really great TV's.

Not gonna say fake but more of a believe it when I see it. It just reads to much like a shopping list for the perfect device which usually means fake lol

Wasn't the EVO a shopping list for a perfect device 6-8 months ago? It was for me. Now its time to move on to the next list.:)

Not really.. I mean the Evo was and is a shopping list for a great device but that is ridiculous

I like ridiculous. Just 5 or so years ago camera phones were touted as ridiculous. 8 years ago color screens was ridiculous. 14 years ago caller ID and multiple ring tones was jaw dropping. Whats one more ghz 3 more gb of rom? I cant wait for my future EVO 2 to sport a ridiculous 4.3inch super amoled screen.
