Holy cow!!!!

There's probably a lot of truth in that. Give software guys the most efficient hardware (speed, power) and they'll come up with more ways to add on battery-robbing tasks.

In a sense, they wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't - well - that's what I'm reading on all of these forums.

The numbers indicate the manufacturing process. Smaller numbers there mean the discrete, microscopic components are even smaller (therefore using less power) and closer together (therefore faster).

If you look at the top right hand corner you can see a round circle, it could be a camera. We cant see the back of it to know whether or not it has a flash. They cant possibly put every single stat in a spec sheet. But if it doesn't have those things, then yes it will be a deal breaker. I don't use the flash for camera settings, but I do love to use it as a twin led flash light.
 
I dont see how a 2Ghz processor will drain the battery any faster, if the application only needs 1Ghz then the processor will only run at the demanded speed. But I do agree that battery technology is way behind the times, I would expect this device to have no less than 2,350mAH of battery.. If the tech was moving faster then expect ateast 2800mAH

I'm willing to bet 99% of people didn't even know what a pentile matrix was until Apple said something about it, yet now they use it like they've been using it their whole lives. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I don't think Apple was the first one to mention it at all.
I believe people who owned Nexus One first discovered it.
Please post a link of Apple talking about it, then I will be convinced.
 
What all of these companies need to do, HTC, Samsung and others is release phones with PROPER working everything, not half working drivers, slow access to RAM, etc... The most awesome hardware in the world is crap if it's software doesn't control it correctly.

As someone who really likes to look into the hardware before committing to a purchase, finding out about little details that the manufacturer overlooked or left out because the majority of the users probably wouldn't know the difference really bugs me.

I used to be big on Samsung phones and they were all I owned until my last phone, the Omnia. Over time I just noticed how Sammy just dropped the ball on their phones. I was contemplating on the Omnia 2 until I just couldn't deal with Sammy anymore and jumped ship to HTC as they seem to have been coming up in recent years, unfortunately, now we find out things like that HTC has used a generic driver for their cameras...

I'm sure that if the companies would release everything in good working order and not half baked implementations, once people see how the device performs the devices will sell themselves. I want something that not only sounds good on paper, but performs just as well as you'd expect from such hardware!

Who's with me on this?
 
Im with you on that one, but unfortunately all other companies do that not only samsung.

But the latest JG3 firmware really improves the speed on the Galaxy S or so I've read, a lot of users also noticed that slight delays when opening applications or exiting them are now gone ( system wide ) with the latest firmware, Imagine if samsung had that kind of firmware on the initial release!
 
I *personally* think Google should make a new Nexus & a Nexus Pro(slider) That would out-spec everything on the market right now, and offer it on all carriers, including a 4G version for Sprint.
 
I was wondering 1080p full video recording and 2ghz processor? 4.3 inch?
How about battery life? I don't think it can last half day.

Non of that is necessary or useful.
What we ACTUALLY need is.
+Camera that actually takes good pictures at 5MP, needs a better camera lens, no need for 1080p, 1560P, 999999P that is just all BS number
+2GHz, who cares as long as there is NO lag and all the apps work perfectly, it's fine
+10inch screen 20inch screen they don't matter what we need is higher resolution at maybe 1280X720 or something. WVGA screen is looking kind of dated these days.
 
all i can say is that samsung is a better complany than HTC..

HTC evo's hardware is not even up to par with the galaxy s' right now.. and samsung being an innovative company that makes great technology, it is safe to think that galaxyS 2 will likely be better and much more powerful..

samsung galaxy S 2?? looks like a possibililty!
