What do you mean as a wake up button? Are you referring to the alarm function? If so (although I haven't used the alarm on my Note 2014, but I assume it's the same as on my S3), when the alarm goes off you have to swipe the screen to the side to turn it off.

Or do you mean to wake up the tablet from hibernation? If so, then yes, that is the normal way to wake the device up and that will take you to the lockscreen. (You could also tap the power button, I suppose, and that would do the same thing.) Not sure why you would want to turn this off though...I doubt that you can anyway.

I was wondering that when I get my new Samsung cover that if I hold the center of the tablet cover, that the cover would depress the button and wake up tablet ???
thank you
tom

If it's the book cover you are getting you won't have to worry that you could depress the button. The cover has an indent on the underside where the button is, and that particular part of the cover is very stiff. I could not depress the button with the cover closed.

I agree with ddoyle777. I don't have the official Samsung book cover, mine is by IVSO. But the home button is not raised from the bezel to the extent that it could be pressed through the cover, plus the cover is thick and rigid enough to prevent an unwanted press of the button.

You will probably also find that, once you have your tablet in its case, when you open the case the tablet will automatically wake from hibernation. There is a setting that is switched on by default (I don't remember which one and I don't have access to my tablet right now to check) that will allow this. So in fact once you have it powered on in its case, you don't have to worry about using the home button to wake it up, unless you keep the case open of course.
