home buttons picky

DBEAU

Lurker
I'd just like to know if anybody else finds their home row (home, menu, back) to be very picky about registering. I have to firmly plant my finger slightly above these keys to get them to work. I can never get away with pecking at them.

definitely. they have a mind of their own and sometimes just decide to completely ignore me. it was my earliest and biggest gripe with the phone. i've gotten better at using them but they can still drive me crazy. doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to how they behave.

I don't have a problem with them. I found the sweet spot of each button on day 1 and always get appropriate feedback.

About the only thing I've noticed is the lack of responsiveness when my fingers are cold. I'll try a different finger and it'll work.

I was having issues as well. The spot that works is actually higher then you would think. try hitting just under the screen above (as mentioned) each icon and it should reg. everytime. Hope this helps...

Thanks for all the feedback. The reason I asked is because my screen protector was applied in such a manner so as to leave a very small gap between the screen and the case unprotected. I just wanted to know if this was possibly to blame. Now I know it is common. Thanks.

I read earlier in the beginnings of this forum that you have to completely cover the button for it to register. That seemed to work for me.
