Home launcher default app won't "stick"

I have LauncherPro Plus installed on my stock Galaxy S2 (Android version 2.3.6). It works great but there is one major annoyance. Several times a day, when I press the home button, I get the Android "choose default app" prompt, with the stock launcher and LPP listed. Each time, I check the "make default" box before selecting LPP, but it doesn't seem to stick because, like I said, I get this repeatedly. It's like Android keeps "forgetting" the selection. I have tried doing a force close and clear data on TWLauncher. I would uninstall it if that were an option, but it doesn't seem to be possible on an unrooted phone. I have also tried installing Home Switcher and setting LPP as the default using that, but that makes no difference. Anyone else ever run into this issue?

Launcher Pro hasn't been updated since May so it might not be entirely compatible with your phone or OS version. Try another launcher to see if you get the same problem.

Are you using Home Switcher or Home Switcher for Froyo? I'm running the later on Android 2.3.3 and it worked fine when I switched over to ADW Launcher Ex.

If I can't use LP, I'd just as soon use the stock Samsung app. I actually used it for a while after I got my new phone and liked it pretty well. I had purchased the plus version of LP on my old phone and just recently decided to try it out again on my new S2.

Other than this one quirk (which may not even be LP's fault) I have not noticed any problems with LP on this phone. Unfortunately, you may be right in implying that it has been abandoned. Over on their forums, that seems to be a popular view although the developer denies it.

I am using the Froyo version. I think it works fine -- the problem is that the OS itself is somehow losing the default setting.

I would try the standard one. The one 'For Froyo' may not work well with Gingerbread, which is what the Galaxy S2 has installed.
