Help home screen setting...pls help

jonie72

Newbie
Hi,

I am a newbie on android and a new owner of a LG Optimus T.

I was able to delete a bunch of preset home buttons and left with only 1 page of home screen buttons out of the 5 home page.

When I press the "home" button, it goes to page 3 which is a blank page.

Is there a way that when I press "home", it will go to page 1 default?

Thanks for any input.

I don't remember if the stock LG launcher will allow you to specify a different home screen than the "middle" one. I know other launchers will let you control the number of screens and which is the default when you hit the HOME key.

You can try to look for:
Menu | Preferences (ie, launcher settings rather than the whole Settings submenu) and see if the launcher has settings you can tweak. Or install another launcher (I use Zeam) that will allow the configuration you want. Or drag the icons onto the hardcoded default screen.

The Optimus T's stock Android 2.2 won't allow you make a home screen change like that. It defaults to home screen page 3. But like fratermus said, there are several launcher programs out that that will allow you to make whatever changes you would like.

Thank you fratermus and trav2001 for your quick reply.

I guess I am fine with the home screen going to page 3. I thought I may have missed out some setting since I am pretty new to all these.

I too am new to the world of Android. One of the first things I have learned is the ability to customize my homescreens using "GoLauncher Ex". Downloading a launcher sounds scary, but it's super easy and basic. You'lle never go back to factory, although you can with literally one click. Go to Android Market and check it out. You won't regret it (from one newbie to another).:o
