Help home screen wallpaper glitch

Anybody have the issue where they hit the home button and the wallpaper glitches? Mine is off and on but when it happens it shifts from side to side before it settles in place.

Not sure what's causing it or how I can potentially fix this.

not seen that - is that with stock launcher?

Are you on any custom ROM? custom Launcher? custom LockScreen?
Any of those may cause this issue. You'd have to narrow it down further for us to troubleshoot this situation.

Sorry, should have been more specific.

Had the phone for a week now, on Verizon network in US, stock everything so far, Android 4.0.4 ICS.

Only thing I changed was the wallpaper, but reverted to the stock wallpaper to see if that fixed anything and still does it. I've tried to narrow down what causes it and I turned off S Voice launce with double pressing the home button, turned off animations/transition in developer options.

Can't seem to figure it out. I saw someone else having this issue in the Samsung Galaxy S3 4G LTE forum , but they had no replies to the topic.

Since you just got the device, I assume it's not too hard to ask to try a Factory Data Reset through the Settings menu, and if that doesn't work, through recovery?
To access recovery mode, you need to turn off the device, make sure it is NOT plugged in (neither to a wall wart, nor to a computer) and press volume UP, Home, and Power at the same time. Then press volume UP at the prompt.
But I'd much rather you try through the settings menu first...

Just be aware that this will wipe, i.e erase everything you may have on your phone. Be it cute pictures of fluffy bunnies, annoying contacts names, super secret kill list, downloaded applications full of ads, etc...!

Thanks, I don't have much on my phone yet, and what I do have on the phone I have backed up to my google account and another service.

I was hoping not to have to fool with that so I figured if anyone might know a solution. I'll give it a go this week when I have some time and see if that solves the issue.

I have the same problem!
So annoying that the wallpaper has to shift and glitch before settling in place. Even the stock wallpapers do this, only the live wallpapers work (but drain the battery...)

I have the same problem. It's soooooo annoying!
I think I just found a temporary fix for me!
I just downloaded an app called "PhotoWall Live Wallpaper" and I selected a photo from my Gallery. Now when I push the home button, the wallpaper does not shift anymore!!!
