Homescreen/Screenshot

Hey guys we've been having this section opened for a while now and there's still no Homescreen thread and every phone I know in this forum has one, so here is the first one. Let share. :)

Here is mine. You will have to excuse the colored lines that are covering some tasks/appointments on my agenda widget. This was of course done for privacy reasons but just imagine there are appointments or tasks listed there instead with the font for each one in the same color that was used for the lines that are covering them and you will get the picture.

I'm glad someone else posted their Homescreen. It looks nice.

I'm very surprised how low is the activity in this section. Even when I had the Alcatel Fierce I saw more activity there, not to mention the LG Optimus, LG Esteem, and the LG Spirit sections. Anyways, glad to see someone else posting the Homescreen like I mentioned earlier. Thanks for sharing.

I provided an answer here. I've provided a link rather than copying the reply here.

Thanks. It actually looks much nicer without the lines drawn over the appointments. I think things will pick up in a short while for this phone. Motorola claims to be selling them as fast as they can make them but as far as I know, this phone is still a "Bring your own phone" type of phone. None of the carriers are offering it as part of their line up of phones so people have to already know about this phone and then purchase it directly through Motorola or a large online retailer such as Amazon if they want one. Hopefully some of the carriers will add it to their line up soon. It would make a big difference if people could walk into a carriers local store and see this phone along with all of the other offerings. One problem with that will be that it looks and feels exactly like the Moto G and that might be why carriers have not jumped on it yet. Give it some time though. Things will pick up in the near future as far as development goes. I do already have mine rooted but am not unhappy with the stock Android 4.4.3 (with some of Motorola's fat removed) and a few choice Xposed modules such as Gravity Box running. At this point I am really only interested in custom ROM's to hopefully trim down the OS more. SlimROM is of course very well known for a mean and lean ROM but many custom ROM's pile on the fat just like the carriers do so I get the feeling my interest in custom ROM's for this phone are going to be very limited.

I agree. Root is really all I need, but a custom recovery would be nice.

I agree, I have rooted all my phones as soon as I have put my hands on them but I haven't root this one yet. I was talking to a friend and I was telling him how this phone is the first phone I haven't root. The phone runs great and it didn't come with lots of unnecessary apps. I would like to know if we will get 4.4.4 and how soon since Android L is around the corner and if Motorola going to keep updating this phone, that's one of the reason I got it too. Will see. But I'm very pleased with you phone.

We are suppose to get the 4.4.4 update in 3-5 weeks, but not sure about Android L. I do hope we get.

You can watch the Motorola Software Upgrad page and continue checking for more upgrades for your devices :)

Thanks guys!

After my last post I felt sick about not rooting my phone, so I took a dose of sdk, unlocking the bootloader and then I felt much better and rooted my phone, lol. I'll post a few screen shots later still getting the phone the way I had it.

Sorry to hijack this thread. I have moto G and have rooted it. Can you please tell me if the same method applies to the LTE version as well? If not could please point me towards the right direction? Information on how to root this phone is limited.

EDIT: Sorry, found it here http://androidforums.com/moto-g-4g-...-g-lte-will-able-rooted-have-cyanogenmod.html

New screen after rooting and getting it the way I wanted it. Xposed framework installed, I got four hidden folders and the new navigation buttons.
