Help Honest opinions for getting the moment but not using Google?

I think a real issue is how well it works with other phones. I know that with my Instinct it worked fine minus the access to additional folders but that was a email app limitation. I wonder what the cause for the issue truly is? Yahoo or Android(google vs yahoo) or a samsung issue.

Sure would be nice to find out if it's a yahoo issue or not... I do know that when I tried to import my yahoo account into one I set up with live.com the message I got was that it needed to be a premium account.

I found this in another forum and saved it, haven't tried it though:

I dont have a yahoo plus account and got it to work using these settings.

Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....

GL hope this helps.

Thanks it worked great.

All I get is "incorrect user name or password". I've given up trying to get this to work. Ymail was my primary mailbox back in the day when I used my yahoo as my home page. Then they stated to charge for POP access. Recently, pop acces began to work with WM, so I started paying attention to the Ymail account again. This is the last straw. Gmail offers free and unlettered access while Ymail does not. Goodbye Ymail and Yahoo in general!!!

This actually worked for me too! (when it's not in WiFi and accessing the internet through Sprint's network which I expected)

Before the "fix" suggested above, I was having my Yahoo mail "pushed" to my Moment AND Hero from the Seven program that someone suggested on this forum earlier. I found that it worked great - especially since it automatically had the email pushed to my phone.

You can download the program here. (You may have to register first). Once you do, pick the Consumer Edition for Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.

http://community.seven.com/main.php

It will ask you to enter your country, then phone information. It will then send a text to your phone where you can continue to install the program from your phone's browser.

When promoted for Vendor, pick All Devices> Android

It will then download and install the program then request information about your Yahoo account.

It was a great workaround to get Yahoo mail on both my Hero and Moment so if you're still intent on receiving those emails, give it a try.

Thanks for the info on Seven, I loaded it up and tried it. Since I haven't had any trouble with my Yahoo-Plus account with the native mail app, I don't see any advantage to it. So I think for now I'll be sticking to the native app.

I am still on the razors edge of subscribing to a Hosted Exchange service, and revamping my entire email structure to work through that.

I'm still of the opinion that an "Exchange Lite" client/app/server that runs on the local machine with Outlook would be a wonderful thing!
