Honor 5X SIM 2G services stopped working

The the default 2G services in the SIM card 2 on my Honor 5x stopped working. I can switch the card 2 to the 2G/3G/4G services via the Dual SIM Management feature in the Settings, but that disengages the 2G/3G/4G services for the card in the in the card 1 slot. Ultimately, I can only receive calls on the card pointing to the 2G/3G/4G services.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?

Thank you!

Richard

I think some carriers turned off their 2G towers on 12/31. I fairly certain AT&T did as I kept getting texts saying my service would be interrupted.

WOW! My service is Cricket which uses AT&T towers.

No more dual SIM for me/work phone/personal phone. I don't like carrying two phones. Bummer!

Thanks so much!

Signed up my honor 5x on att daughters family plan and all goes well till we run out of data and I have to switch to sim card 2 thus turning the att sim slot into the 2g slot but what happens is I then get emergency calls only on my at&t slot. The work around is solved by going to the APN setting and doing them manually, 1st suggested Att phone didn't work but replacing with NEXGENPHONE on the first 2 lines did, I now can have data on sim 2 card and still receive/make calls and texts with no data used

I have to add that apparently it helped make it visible while I was on wifi, which takes the 4g off both sims as wifi is then first data source...once I left wifi location I am back on emergency calls only as sim 2 goes back on 4g and AT&T sim can't find 2g network, so it is an improvement but not a fix. Any other ideas?
