Help hooking up usb and the mass storage does not come up anymore???????????????????????

I have only been having this problem for a couple of days. I hook up my phone to my computer and the screen that usually came up for mass storage and the other few options does not come up any longer. Also it does the beep beep as if I am connecting and disconnecting it over and over again.

I have tried to install the driver v.1.3.800 and does nothing. I have tried taking the battery out and restarting and same. It does not work on my work computer either. I just hooked it up to the work computer for the first time about 2 weeks ago. I don't think that would have done it but who knows.

Also the other day the led that is usually on for charging or notification of a message or email was on solid all the time the screen was on. Turn the screen off, lock it, it would go off. Its just getting annoying that it keeps beeping and I cant use it like I used to

Any thoughts or help appreciated

Have you tried different cables? I've found every Samsung devices I've owned or used (Moment, Intercept, E4G, ET4G) to be picky with usb cables. Sometimes data and sync fail, more often charging. Even ones that work fine for extended periods can suddenly turn bad for no apparent reason. Every cable that has had problems with the Samsung phones work fine with the Evo4G, Nook and gTablet....go figure. We've also found that our Toshiba laptop is more inconsistent in connecting with the Samsung devices than our other pc's (Dell, HP, custom built), even the cheap Asus netbook has no problem. The Toshiba connects fine with every other device. My guess is Samsung does something slightly different with their usb interface than everyone else.
