Help Horrible standby time

Hi guys. I have had my Galaxy note 4 for a few months now, and I have been having really awful battery life lately, most noticeably in standby time. My phone will die at 4.00 PM with 6 minutes of screen on time. It's like a little timer as soon as I take it off the charger. The worst battery suckers when I look in my usage are android system (50%) followed by android os (15%), then cell standby (5%), phone idle (4%) google services (2%), and then finally the screen with 1%. 1%!!!! I've read every forum and discussion and I seem to be the only one with this problem. Someone please help me!! I have background processes set to a maximum of 0, sync and refresh off, and there seems to be no rouge applications. What even is android system using battery for? And android os? How can I stop them?? Also, my phone usually dies with 20-40% power left. Sometimes the drain with the screen off can be 20%/ hour. There wad very little drain 2 months ago, and almost none back in the days of kit kat for this phone. Finally, in battery usage the phone looks like it is awake all the time. Any help will be so appreciated thanks!

1-Poor standby time often means wakelock problem (some app is keeping your phone awake). Tap on the graph to get bars below for "awake time" and "screen on". Lots of "awake time" without "screen on" at the same time again points to wakelock problem (I think maybe that's what you were mentioning when you said it looks like the phone is awake all the time). There are some apps that can monitor wakelock source which may help narrow down the cause.

2-I'm not sure whether setting max background processes to zero is a good idea or not (I've just never messed with that). Have you tried setting it to "standard limit". Are there any other tweaks you have made to your system?...sometimes these can cause problems.

3-try clearing cache in recovery

Thank you so much for answering! Like you mentioned, there is a lot of awake time under android system, usually 2+ hrs. I have made very few tweaks to my system other than the one I mentioned earlier and simply turning every feature off in an effort to make it through the day. I have cleared system cache in recovery numerous times, with no noticeable difference. If I do indeed have a wakelock problem would you please explain the best way of fixing it? Thanks again!

If you have root, I'd try better battery stats.

If you don't have root, google no root wakelock detector... there are a few options although I haven't tried them.

I'd still like to suggest putting "max background processes" back to "standard limit" if you haven't done that. It could be you are causing problems with your setting.
