Help Horrible static while on phone calls

This has gotten really bad on my phone too. Approximately 1 second burst of loud white noise every 5 or 10 seconds. The person I'm talking to can also hear it, but not as loud. It might have gotten worse with my new batteries (I bought 3). Might be be linked to the latest update, but not sure though
It is random loud bursts and has been getting more frequent, if I am on speaker the other caller can hear it but only when I am on speaker, otherwise they are not aware of it.
Doesnt happen on every call, but often enough.

This describes my problem. Same annoyingly loud bursts of static making calls unbearable. It starts only when I answer some calls, but sometimes persists after I've ended the call and I have to restart the phone; however on instances when it doesn't continue after the call, I can make calls normally. I know this thread is kind of old and on another site, but has anyone found a fix? Or maybe has a theory on what might cause this?

I have recently been experiencing the same problem on my S3. Starts at the beginning of a call for a few seconds then goes. Very annoying and have no idea what it could be. Have spoken to my network provider (3UK) and they have no idea. Just hope that when Jellybean comes out it will deal with the problem. Will have to live with it until then I think.
