Help horrible touch screen lag/latency

scotzur

Lurker
Hey, I literally just got this phone today. I attempted to use it to play fruit ninja and it is just god awful. If I swipe across the screen to chop some fruit it doesn't register until about 1/2 second later. Needless to say the fruit has already moved and the slash completely misses its target. Anyone else experience this? is this just a setting change or is there something I can do to fix it?

Some further information:
The issue is also noticeable (although it doesn't affect anything) when you swype words into the keyboard. The blue line trails my finger by a noticeable distance.

I know it's just a game but it's frustrating to get a brand new phone and have it not perform to expectations.

Hi just go check settings>Developer options>and check window animation scale &, transition animation scale and make sure there both set to 1X. If set to say 10x it would make the device feel slow backing out of apps &, keyboard input etc.

to the OP, do a few things and see what you find:

1) check to see if power saving mode is on. you can find it in settings or swipe down the notification bar from the top and scroll to one of the settings on the top right. make sure power saving mode is not illuminated.

2) download a benchmarking tool like Quadrant and run the benchmark, just to see if your scores are somewhat in line with normalcy. if it's not, you can see 2D, 3D, input/output scores, to possibly narrow it down.

This is normal for anything that's not a Tegra 3 or an iPhone. Nothing you do will ever eliminate input lag. Tweaks will only improve framerates.
