Hotmail like Gmail???

So i've read through another few posts on here similar to what i'm asking but with no answer. So here goes :)

I've got the Samsung Galaxy s2. If i receive a gmail email, it goes straight to my phone.

Is there a way to get hotmail to do this too?

Cheers :)

Yes, there should be an Email app on your phone (envelope with a green '@' symbol). Configure hotmail there. I actually use that for Gmail instead of the Gmail app, I have that app configured to receive emails from Ovi, Hotmail, and Gmail. I like using a unified inbox better. Or you could get the Hotmail app from the market.

I have the email setup with my hotmail, but I actually have to go into the email folder to get it to refresh the emails there where as my gmail comes straight through automatically.
There is a setting to make it check every X amounts of minutes, but thats not what I want it to do. I want it to tell me when I have an email, not check for mail every few minutes.

What am I doing wrong?! lol

Also, I had a look for hotmail apps, but none of them seem official like the gmail one.

I wont expect Hotmail to have an official client for Android, they're Windows, and they have Windows Phone. Same for Nokia, Android wont have an official OviMail client.

Try K9Mail. Its supposed to have push mail features like the Official GMail client.

Hotmail is my default account on my phone and at home. However...I'd like to find something that allows me to see all of my folders as well as mark emails to my phone as SPAM. Don't remember why, but I wasn't impressed with K9 when I tried it.

Guys, you got me there!!! :D

Happy days! lol

The clue was who ever mentioned 'push'

Within the standard android hotmail, go to menu/more/account settings

Under the Push Service Common Settings, press sync schedule and set peak and off peak to 'push'

This sorted it for me :D
