Hotmail

I have a galaxy s8 and would like to access my hotmail via the email icon in the Samsung folder. When I try to install the account either automatically or manually i get to the point where I get a message "can't connect to sever". Works ok if I download the outlook app though. Any ideas?

Not sure about hotmail, but a lot of mail services like Yahoo and MSN have implemented security protocols where you can only access them using their app. With Yahoo, you can opt out, if you assume the security risks. Again, Not sure about Hotmail.

I thought hotmail was discontinued and replaced by outlook. The hotmail addressess are accessible through outlook now. Happened quite awhile ago.
