Hotspot device for my android tablet

[Android Question]

I have a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and I just purchased an Ellipsis Jetpack Hotspot from Verizon. The hotspot came with a sim card, however, my tablet can't be used as a phone. Do I still need to insert the sim card?

Hi

The SIM lets the jetpack connect to Verizons data network and the SIM goes in the Jetpack. Your tablet (and up to 7 more devices) connects to the jetpack with wifi (no SIM needed in the tablet)
