Hotspot Speeds?

Hi Guys,
I'm trying out the mobile hotspot on my Droid Razr.
I'm hooking up my Asus Transformer and the speeds seem pretty lame like .5mb down and .25mb up on 3G.
Is that normal? I was hoping to watch netflix on my Asus thru the hotspot,is that not realistic?
The kids Ipods seem to operate pretty slow as well.
I was hoping to use this feature for long car rides so the kids could stay busy but i am really disappointed with the speeds so far.
Are there any settings I need to adjust?

i have heard there were issues with the RAZR and hotspot capability, however im not so sure how accurate i am in that statement

I dont know about 3g speeds but where I am with 4g the hotspot speeds are parallel to my high speed cable.

I have the 4G HotSpot as well and my speeds are fantastic. I saw the bad reviews for the device on the Verizon Wireless Website but figured i would give it a shot. It has been great, not a single problem for the past month or so. maybe you got a dud? possibly have it swapped out for a new one and test it again?

My 3G Verizon aircard will not stream Netflix and buffers like crazy on YouTube as well. I bought the Razr for 4G when available when I travel, but I won't expect much from 3G for streaming
