Help hotspots

Are there any apps that generate free WiFi? I realize Xender is not for this purpose, but I have been using it that way. It seems to go out fairly often.

FoxFi is the one that's often recommend on here. Not tried it myself though, as I've never needed to install a third-party WiFi hotspot tethering app on any phone I've had

I'm looking for a free app that generates wifi without requiring root or a PC.
