How are you liking your 5x?

Got this phone on Tuesday (4/26), was debating between this and the 6P (budget wasn't a factor), so glad I got this! The size is perfect (its the biggest phone i've had -- coming from two Moto Gs and a GS4); comfortable with one hand and nice feel with two. Works flawlessly on MetroPCS. Came directly from a Moto G 3rd Gen 8GB, which became really sluggish with age (1GB RAM didn't help). Connects to WiFi and Data a lot quicker and smoother than Moto G. Better audio output and screen responsiveness than Moto G as well. Only complaint is the battery (Moto G's wasn't that great either though). First Nexus phone and def not disappointed.

Welcome to the club. Although I came straight from the 1st gen Moto G.

I bought mine from Google because I wanted their insurance, but that meant paying a higher price up front, & getting a credit back on my card after activating it on Google Fi. I just got a confirmation email that I'll get my credit back soon [emoji5]

I went from my Nexus 5 to the Nexus 5x. I decided against the 6p because of size and price. To be honest, the Nexus 5 was doing fine but I felt like a new device. I live in Oaxaca, Mexico, and had to order my phone from New York via Amazon. When it arrived, and I saw the charging plug I realized the camera was from somewhere way east of New York. I got an adapter for the foreign plug and my service provider, Telcel, certified that the phone would work well in Mexico and the U.S.

I like the 5x. It's pretty much the largest I'd want. The battery life is not as good as my Nexus 5, neither is stellar, but I'm hoping the 5x will settle down as it gets broken in.

The only hassle has been ordering cables and adapters and getting a clamshell holster for my 5x from the U.S.

I'm having a heck of a time finding a case I like. First I ordered the black Diztronic tpu case, & I don't like the way it feels in my hand. I think it's mostly because of the edges, there's a ridge & I just don't like it.

Next I ordered a "cute" purple tpu cimo brand case. Turns out this one is even worse feeling, it has 2 different textures on the back, & some roughness on the edges.

I'm considering the tudia Arch but I think the edges will be the same as the Diztronic.

I just ordered a different cimo - they have a matte case that looks like it *might* resolve all my weird texture issues. Cross your fingers!

Oh... the phone is fine, lol.

i've actually decided to go caseless for this one - i like how the white looks and the rubberized material on the back has surived a couple drops unscratched, though i am pretty careful with my phone now and they were light drops. also the front is gorrila glass, on me nexus 4 i couldn't break it even when i got mad at the buggy stock android rom and intentionally tried to lol.

I think part of the reason I'm not happy with cases so far is the shape of the phone. My previous phone was an LG G3 & it had a slightly curved back with slightly rounded edges, & it fit so comfortably in your hand. The 5X is really squareish & just feels blah in my hand. I'm hoping the other Cimo case I ordered (which arrives tomorrow) will be the one. If I end up buying 10 cases & returning 9 I won't care too much, as long as I finally find one I like.

Got mine in March. Love project Fi but this phone plain sucks. I reboot daily because of slowdown but nothing makes this phone responsive. Everything takes 2-3 seconds. Often have to wait a second or two just for the keyboard to open up. Slowest phone I've ever used. Still have my Nexus 5 and, by comparison, it is much faster despite being years older.

I haven't experienced slowdown issues and I've had my phone nearly 11 months (ordered it the day it was released). I'm sure there are faster phones around but I don't find the response times bad at all.

My guess is that you either don't have enough free space (I think you need to leave around 1GB free) or that you have some rogue app slowing everything down.

I came to the 5X from a 1st gen Moto G (Nexus' little half brother) and l love it! I, personally, haven't encountered any bad phone calls; the incoming call sounds crystal clear to me and the receiving end hasn't made any comments about bad sounding calls.

I'm still your shadow....Got 5X a couple of weeks ago. Just rcvd 7.0 update and of course root it.
