Help How can I copy the old sd files to the new sd card?

I have a Moto G3 and just got a larger and faster sd card for it. I had a lot of files and apps on the old sd-card, which is configured as internal storage (android 6.x). I copied al the files to my hd of my pc, but when I wanted to put it on the new sd-card that is formatted in my phone as internal storrage, it doesn't want to copy it.
Any sollutions for this problem or how to do it propper?
 
When you adopt a card as internal storage it is reformatted to a linux filesystem and encrypted. So I'm guessing that you used an MTP connection to copy the files to the PC, since the PC would no longer be able to read the card itself.

So how did you try to copy them back, and what messages did you get? It's always good to give as much information as possible, since any detail may help someone identify the problem.
 
I got the message "Can't copy item. The device does not respond or connection failled". I used windows explorer (is it called thar in English?) to move the files. The files are apps and pics and other data.
I selected the mtp connection on the phone.

I formatted as removable storage and i can put stuff on it now. The apps I put on do not work.

It seems that I cannot find the sd card in the device through my pc. It is a 32 gig PNY card.
When i put the he old samsung card in mùy device i can acces it by pc.
 
Did you check the card was OK before doing all of this? Can the phone still see it itself (I'm guessing that the usual card-testing utilities might have trouble after the card has been reformatted and encrypted).?
 
The card was ok. Just bought them. The weird thing is that i can find them when i use them as removable storage, but not as internal storage. What do you mean with "Can the phone see itself"?
 
I asked whether the phone could see "it" itself, i.e. the card. The question about the card was partially about whether it was genuine or not (there are a lot of fake cards sold, whose real capacity is much less than is claimed, and I don't know what happens if you try to adopt one of those).
