Help How can I fix my android smartphone?

Hello everybody and this time I want some help about the Android 4.3 I have installed on my smartphone. Recently I got a Samsung Galaxy ACE 4 with Android 4.3 version installed, and it works fine, but the last week I installed an app from Uptodown.com in order to record all the phones (Call Record I think was the app) and I tried to run it but without any result... so I decided to desinstall... everything Ok, until some time ago when I received a call from my wife WITH ANOTHER RINGTONE!!! (I was assigned to her a particular ringtone..) and when I check the phone ringtones... ALL the news installed were gone... so I tried to re asign the ringtones to my contacts but I couldn't do it because the original audio app didn't recognize the music on the SDCard although it was there when I searched with the files explorer... the same with the Galery app, it doesn't recognize the photos on the SDCard... this was amusing for me. The rest of the applications work fine on the phone ...

I check viruses, malware and similar and found nothing... So I think the application broke some internal settings on the phone.

The help I need is the following:

1.- Can I fix the configuration in order the factory music player, galery and similar recognize all the files associated on the SDCard?

2.- In case it can be fixed. Can I reinstall the Andriod 4.3 OS version? or I have to get the original factory version?

3.- In case I can reinstall the Android OS, where I can obtain a good and trusted copy???

4.- Can I install ANOTHER Android OS version? Like 4.4 or similar? It has to be the Samsung oriented ?

Thanks for reading this post and I really need your help, oh, excuse my english

Sincerely

I think the problems started with downloading and installing something from that "uptodown" apps site, instead of Play or Amazon. There's a lot of illegal stuff on there, like copyright infringing download and streaming apps. Although it's in Spanish, is it actually Chinese? If your phone wasn't rooted, a factory reset should put it back to normal and kill any malware, if it was rooted, you will have to re-flash it, Should find the ROM for your Samsung Ace 4 here if needed. http://www.sammobile.com/

Maybe it was the cause, but I use a lot of apps from that site and they work fine... btw the Samsung is made for china, and it originally was in chinese, and I had to change the language to english... how can I know if my phone was rooted or not? I have some experience in Windows and Linux OS, but not in Android... so excuse me for the questions... I will find out the rom in the website you recommend me... thanks

PS: It's extremely difficult to connect to internet in my country, it's a 2 USD/hour cost and therefore I have to download the apps from another sites...

You can run Root Checker, should indicate if it's rooted or not. This is the Play Store URL, I'm not going to post other APK sources here on AF, even though I'm in China. :thumbsupdroid: ...where Google can be difficult.

Also if the phone has SuperUser or SuperSU, that usually indicates it's rooted.

If the phone originally come from China, even though it's a Samsung, anything is possible, e.g. it was rooted, malware etc. It's definitely a real Samsung is it? Although I've never seen a knock-off Ace, usually it's flagship Samsungs that are counterfeited in China, like S5 or S6.

The phone was bought in China, for the China market because its main language was chinese... I think it's better to install a more international ROM from Samsung Android... I fought the ROM you recommended to me... of course everything is possible in this world...

Another issue, the phone originally didn't come with the Google Play application, instead it came with a Samsung Store application... it's for mads... take care and thank you again...

The phone ISN'T rooted my friend, I check it using the Root Checker and the result was that... it's not rooted... so I think it's easier to restart to the original factory settings, although my fear is the phone language return to chinese, as it was the language it had when I received... very bad idea... thanks anyway .. a big salute
