How can I identify an app from its icon

Can someone help which app this icon represents?

Is the phone a Huawei, because it looks like an Optimizer notification. Maybe indicating amount of mobile data used, etc. If you pull down the notification shade, there should be a message associated with it.

It's a samsung s8 android
Doesn't look like mobile data icon though
 
Determining which app or service an icon relates to can be a real chore. Try perusing through your Settings >> Apps menu, and be sure to include System-level apps. Most of the icons that show up in the Notification bar will be the same or at least similar with variations to their respective apps. You might also want to scroll through your Notifications log, which might list what app/service was recently shown:
