Accessories how can i play radio through a bluetooth speaker

the phone plays all audio through the speaker, until i want to play the radio - when of course i have to plug head phones in & then the only audio comes out of the headphones & it disconnects from the bluetooth speaker.

is there any way round this? so it plays out of headphones & bluetooth speaker??

thanks

You want it through headphones and Bluetooth speaker at the same time? I don't think I quite get it. But no its not possible to do it simultaneously. There is no reason for it so there is no function for it. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Why do you need to plug in headphones to get the radio to play?

The inbuilt fm radio (on the international version) uses the headphone cable as an antenna so wont work without them plugged in mate.
Op i dont know of any way around it, sorry :(

Ooohhhh. Didn't know that version had an FM radio. Wow how did I not know that? My apologies.

thanks for the replies. its a bit stupid / annoying that you cant use the radio function on your phone through a speaker using bluetooth as the headphone jack cuts it out.

i was planning bigger things, thinking if it would play over bluetooth & through the 3.5mm jack then i could create a 2 zone sound system in my house - one wired & the other connected by bluetooth - so it sucks you dont have that option really :-(

Yeah it does suck mate.
Im guessing the fm radio was just an afterthought to "fill space" or something lol

IIRC from the OG Droid / Droid X / Droid 2 days one of the big radio manufactureres was using a chipset that had the fm tuner embedded with either the cellular radios or wifi. I think it was just cheaper to use the chipset than redesign it. I had to hack the tuner app onto one of my old phones and yes, there was something about the headphone jack where the tuner app wouldn't even recognize the tuner without headphones plugged in. I think it was actually more legacy than afterthought.
